Little Red Hen

This Character Set is to be used in conjunction with the Monkey Mitt and easily attaches to the fingers with Velcro.  The set includes 6 characters, the words to the Story and 6 Activity Suggestions.

The Words to the Story:
The little red hen planted wheat in her garden.
The duck, the pig, the chick and the cat did not help her
     take care of her garden.
The little red hen made the wheat into flour
     and made the flour into bread.
Because the duck, the pig and the cat
     did not help with the work,
The little red hen did not invite them to
     help eat the bread.

You can also use your favorite version of the story

Activity Suggestion Example: After the story, the children can participate in a cooking project making their own bread or biscuits.  They can also plant their own garden using a wet sponge and seeds and watch them sprout.
